Hello Dear RVH Classmates,
I have some very sad news. Our Joannie Berry passed away suddenly but peacefully last Saturday January 18th, in her own apartment in Montreal. Of natural causes.
It has been a terrible shock to those of us who have been close to her over the years, and we are deeply saddened. She leaves behind her beautiful daughter Sarita
who together with her mom's constant help and attention, has been raising three beautiful children, Amrik 12, and twin girls Amara and Kiyolena who just turned 11
(there was a wonderful birthday party just days before their grandma died!)
Joannie was Joannie as we all know. A true and compassionate healer foremost. People drove long distances for her spectacular healing touch at Canyon Ranch in the
US where she practiced for 20 years. And she had many successes with her Christian Science method as well.
My memories of Joannie are now flooding in. Joannie taught me to put blush not only on my cheeks but also on my chin. Then there was the eyeliner. And it was
always a wonderful surprise when she'd show up at my door in Perth with that crazy grin of hers. Hi Deederz I'm here! Always the adventuress, always the risk
taker, I remember when she slept outside on the patio here at 12 John St in 20 below weather. She more than survived!!
Joannie loved Mother Earth, and took on life's challenges with passion and honesty. But mostly she loved her beautiful daughter and her three amazing grandchildren.
This is where I am asking for your help, if you are in a position to help. Due to many years of lawyers, court cases, and difficult challenges (surrounding the father
of Sarita's children) Sarita finds herself at this moment in need of money ....to carry many costs surrounding her mom's death. If you can help in any way, you could
send money (every little bit helps) to my email address by etransfer. As the money comes in I will collect and send to Sarita in lump sums. Thanks so very much to anyone
who can help!
Thank God some of us got to see and visit with Joannie at our spectacular 60th Renuion last Sept, 2024! It was such a blessing and an honour to have known and loved our beautiful classmate.
May she rest in peace.
Love to all....and carpe diem eh?!
Deederz, (Jay and Reta)

Hi again,
I just got word that Peggy Stewart, class of 64A died in Halifax on January 24th. She was the director of nursing at the Victoria General Hospital for many years so I am surprised that I can't find an obit. If I do, I will send it your way.

Hi classmates!
I hope some of you are smarter than I am! I
got very busy after our wonderful reunion, I
flew to Nova Scotia to help a friend who
had two spontaneous fractures in her
pelvis and was there for several weeks.
After that I got involved with some health
issues in my German family. I finally looked
and could only see Joan Hinds Shank
obituary, at which time I called my stepson
John who manages this website for me/us.
Apparently I did not know enough to scroll
down to where all past reunions photos
reside, and the 2024 photos are right there!
My apologies to all who keep an eye on the
site.
I think you know that a black dot below our
graduation photos indicates that this nurse
has died, and I have now eliminated all of
the obituaries to date. Any notifications of
future deaths that I receive will appear in
the site.
Our reunion was wonderful, Reta and Di
did a fabulous job and it was a treat to be
back in Montreal.
